The Samovar (Tea-urn) has peculiar magnetic force. It remains most stable attribute of domestic coziness.

Samovar is arrangement for preparation of boiling water. For it's appearance samovar owes to tea, delivered to Russia from Asia in 17 century. But it's needed to say, that Russia has it's own tea from medicinal leafs, fruits, roots.

The reason of tea success was ceremony, which so loved by Russian people. If the aim of east tea party is a self-intensity the aim of Russian tea party is getting an opposition effect - the union of spirits of people, who sit at the same table. Also, this ceremony opens every soul for the society, family and friends. The tea party makes conditions for intimate conversation. Samovar is a basis of family tea party, which came in classic of Russian literature. To make tea you must take off a lid. To fill a cup samovar has comfortable tap with ground-in surface. Tap is situating at some distance from a bottom, that's why scale isn't hitting in a cup.

The manufacture of copper utensils was directed in 1728 by senate. Edict. The manufacture of samovars was started in 1740 on the Akin Demidov's Tula factory and Suksun factory situated near Irgin factory. By the time Tula became the center of samovar's manufactory. The first information about Tula samovar refers to 1746. But samovar with copper apparatus, which weighted 16 pounds and was manufactured in Irgin factory, was referred already in a document, dated 1740.

At the first samovars were sold by weight. If samovar were heavier, it would be more expensive. All basis details of samovar were manufactured from brass by the technique called "cold stamping". The covering of inside surface is a foodstuffs tin. On our pages you can see samovars with artistic painting of an outside surface.
