The Siberian tray

Bright full-colour painting that was born in the middle XV111 century at Nizhnetagilskom and Nevjansk factories and long time in Nyzhny Tagil. The trays of different forms with high carved borders, brace knobs have been hammered out here . The colour background (sometimes it had some grounds) have been made under primed metal. Painting branches with flowers and garland were carried out with brush by sweeping movements and sometimes with fingers. Painting was rough at technique fulfillment and reminded of painting under wood and birch bark. The subject painting of professional artists appeared on the Nyzhny Tagil trays at the border-line 18-19 centuries created new line in the painting and brought nearer it to the decorative pictures. There are mythological and historical scenes, urban and rural landscapes among subjects adorned these trays. They fulfilled as the copies of famous pictures, engravings. The trays with the subject painting carried out carefully. Colours are putting by the thin lower and then fastened with transparent and fast dye lacquer. It named crystal for that it never changed the colours the painting. The trays were popular in various strata of urban societies. Ural and Siberian artists developed the art of tray's painting. Omsk artists applied to sources of Ural handicrafts art. They succeeded in finding the subjects of fair gathering on public holidays, vegetable compositions and the landscape's motives.
